Horizontal Positional Accuracy
Tracklines created from mosaiced side scan imagery where actual position of towfishis somewhat unknown since position was estimated through layback calculations. Horizontal position will be more accuratethan lateral position since only hotizontal position is accounted for during layback calculations. Ocean currents canmove the towfish laterally with respect to the along-track direction and introduce error in positioning.
