Abstract

This data represents geographic terms used within the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA). CERCLA, commonly known as Superfund, provides a federal "superfund" to clean up uncontrolled or abandoned hazardous waste sites as well as accidents, spills, and other emergency releases of pollutants and contaminants into the environment. The CERCLA gave the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) power to seek out those parties responsible for any release of pollutants and contaminants, and assure their cooperation in the cleanup. When investigating geo-regulatory boundaries near the boundary edges, users should consult the most up-to-date applicable jurisdictional boundaries from all respective authoritative sources.

Process Steps

Process Step 1

CC ID: 652061
Description:

1. Downloaded the Energy Policy Act and copied feature class into a new workspace. (CERCLA shares the same jurisdictional extent as the Energy Policy Act, so the geometry was kept the same.)

2. Changed feature class name and modified attribute values according to data dictionary.
