LiDAR data is remotely sensed high-resolution elevation data collected by an airborne collection platform. The LiDAR files were converted from .PTS format to LAS V1.2. All data is Bare Earth,
with 99% of all buildings removed and 95% of all vegetation removed. There is no information available for return number, scan angle, GPS time, or intensity.
This data set covers approximately 1,233.83 square miles (3,195.6 sq km) of the Connecticut River.
The purpose of this LiDAR data was to produce high accuracy 3D elevation based geospatial products for coastal flood mapping.

Use Constraints: Users should be aware that temporal changes may have occurred since this data set was collected and some parts of this data may no longer represent actual surface conditions. Users should not use
this data for critical applications without a full awareness of its limitations. These data depict the heights at the time of the survey and are only accurate for that time.

Accuracy
Raw elevation measurements have been tested to 0.15 meters vertical accuracy at 95 percent confidence level.
Vertical Positional Accuracy
The data received by the NOAA Office for Coastal Management lacking substantial portions of metadata. The stated RMSEz is given below, but no description of accuracy testing was given.; Quantitative Value: 0.15 meters, Test that produced the value: Value in meters. Tested vertical root mean square error (RMSEz).
Completeness Report
While the NOAA Office for Coastal Management makes every effort to provide accurate and complete information, OCM provides no guarantee as to the accuracy, reliability or completeness of
this data set. Please note OCM received this data from an outside source and is only distributing the data publicly.
Conceptual Consistency
All LiDAR files delivered were verified using commercial GIS software by the NOAA Office for Coastal Management to ensure they open and are positioned properly.
The NOAA Office for Coastal Management (OCM) received the topographic files in .PTS format. The files contained lidar elevation measurements.
The data were received in Connecticut State Plane coordinates, NAD83 (Zone 0600) and were vertically referenced to NAVD88 using the Geoid99 model. The vertical units of the data were feet.
OCM performed the following processing for data storage and Digital Coast provisioning purposes:
1. The .PTS files were converted to LAS V1.2
2. All points were set to Class 2 (Bare Earth)
3. The topographic las files were converted from a Projected Coordinate System (Connecticut State Plane) to a Geographic Coordinate system (NAD83).
4. The topographic las files' horizontal units were converted from US survey feet to decimal degrees.
5. The topographic las files were converted from orthometric (NAVD88) heights to ellipsoidal heights using Geoid99.
6. The topographic las files' vertical units were converted from survey feet to meters.
