LiDAR data was acquired for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Mobile District in September-October
2005 along the coastline of Hancock, Harrison, Jackson counties in Mississippi and Mobile County in Alabama
from the land water interface (shoreline) to the north Right of Way of Interstate-10. The LiDAR DEM was delivered as
first return, last return, bare earth, and water delivery in LAS format. Contract Number: W91278-04-D-0001/0003 EN.
Project Number: C-05-054.
Contractor: R&M Consultants, Inc., Anchorage, AK. Subcontractor: Woolpert, Inc., Dayton, OH.

Horizontal Positional Accuracy
Horizontal accuracy is better than 0.45 meters according to system specification and calibration. No field check
on horizontal accuracy has been performed.
Vertical Positional Accuracy
Vertical accuracy of 15 centimeters (NSSDA RMSEZ) in flat and open areas (i.e. low grass, plowed fields, lawn, golf
courses).
; Quantitative Value: 0.076 meters, Test that produced the value:
Tested vertical accuracy is 7.6 cm in open terrain. 86 survey control points spreading all over the project
area have been used as QC points to check LiDAR vertical accuracy.
Completeness Measure
Cloud Cover: 0
Completeness Report
Data was checked to make sure a full coverage of project area at data acquisition phase. One flight line was reflown.
The points have better than one meter post spacing with overlap removed.
Conceptual Consistency
Features detected in LiDAR points are consistent with features on LiDAR intensity images.
data processed
2005-11-01T00:00:00
The NOAA Office for Coastal Management (OCM) received files in LAS format. The files contained
lidar intensity and elevation measurements. OCM performed the following
processing on the data to make it available within the Lidar Data Retrieval
Tool (LDART):
1. The las files were sorted by latitude and the las header fields were updated.
2005-01-05T00:00:00
For data managment purposes, the Office for Coastal Management converted the data from NAVD88 elevations to ellipsoid
elevations using Geoid 03.

Source Contribution: Raw LiDAR elevation
data utilized in production of final surface.
