Accuracy
The accuracy of this data set has not been tested. The accuracy of the methodology has been
published in Irish, J.L., McClunk, J.K., Lillycrop, W.J., 2000. Airborne lidar bathymetry: the SHOALS system.
PIANC Bulletin, No. 103-2000, 45-53. Vertical accuracy is believed to be on the order of 15 cm root mean square error.
Horizontal accuracy is expected to be on a similar order.

The NOAA Office for Coastal Management (OCM) received ASCII files from USACE. OCM performed the
following processing on the data to make it available within the Lidar Data Retrieval
Tool (LDART):
1. The data were projected using the General Cartographic Transformation Package.
2. The values where extracted from the ascii files and converted to the LAS binary format.
2005-12-01T00:00:00
For data management purposes, the NOAA Office for Coastal Management (OCM) converted the data to:
1. LAS format from LDART bin format
2. Ellipsoid elevations from orthometric (NAVD88) elevations using Geoid 03.
2008-03-19T00:00:00
Times had originally been stored as POSIX seconds when converted to LAS. This was switched to adjusted GPS time (GPS seconds - 1e9) to conform to the LAS 1.2 standard.
