Oblique and nadir imagery was acquired following Hurricane Irma in September 2017. The aerial photography missions were conducted by the NOAA Remote Sensing Division. The images were acquired from an altitude of 2500 to 5000 feet, using a Trimble Digital Sensor System (DSS).
This imagery was acquired by the NOAA Remote Sensing Division to support NOAA national security and emergency response requirements. This rapid response product was generated for use by emergency managers for visual analysis of damage in the area. It is not intended for mapping, charting or navigation. In addition, it will be used for ongoing research efforts for testing and developing standards for airborne digital imagery.

Horizontal Positional Accuracy
The accuracies have not been assessed. The absolute horizontal positions should be in the 3-5 meter range in areas with little or no topographic relief.
Quantitation Limits
The horizontal positional accuracy and the assurance of that accuracy are dependent upon the accuracy of the data inputs to the rectification process.
Individual images were ortho-rectified from POS AV GPS-Aided Inertial Navigation Solution parameters using OSSIM software provided by Radiant Blue. Mosaic data have not been histogram stretched and only minimal color balancing has been performed. The images are in 8 bit RGB. The DEM source is the USGS NED. Original image tiles are 2.5 km by 2.5 km squares.
