Pierce and Key West Florida, 1992-2004 Data Set Completed A cooperative agreement was established in September 1992 between the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) Miami Laboratory and the United States Coast Guard Miami Air Station to monitor marine animals and vessel activity in the Florida Keys The primary objectives of this study were to document sea turtle and marine mammal occurrence, seasonality, and distribution along the southeast Florida coast and to describe vessel usage patterns in Biscayne National Park (BNP) and the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS) . The area surveyed was extended north to Melbourne, Florida in April 1995, and vessel activity was also documented in the Oculina Bank Habitat Area of Particular Concern (HAPC) occurring off Ft.
