Created from bathymetry file: "CNMI_60m_mos", a mosaic of multiple bathymetry files of the CNMI region provided by the Pacific Islands Benthic Habitat Mapping Center at http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/pibhmc/cms.
The following bathymetry files were used to generate the mosaic file: "Rota_60m.asc" "SMAR_60m_2010.asc" " NMART_60m.asc" "NMARS_60m.asc" "NMARC_60m.asc" "NMARN_60m.asc"

Bathymetry data was provided by the Pacific Islands Benthic Habitat Mapping Center at http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/pibhmc/cms/
Multiple bathymetry files covering the CNMI region were mosaicked together in order to seamlessly conduct the remaining steps. The files were pulled from the Pacific Islands Benthic Habitat Mapping Center at http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/pibhmc/cms/.
(ArcToolbox<Raster<Raster Dataset< Mosaic to New Raster) Parameters included a 32_BIT_FLOAT Pixel Type, 1 Band, and a BLEND Mosaic Operator
2017-10-05T00:00:00
Using the mosaicked 60m resolution bathymetry file, depth contours were created at 40m intervals using ArcToolbox's Contour Tool.
(ArcToolbox<Spatial Analyst Tools<Surface<Contour)
The layer's properties were changed to display the unique values for the contours. Applying the Definition Query's Query Builder, the contour polylines were isolated and exported as a shapefile.

The polyline was incomplete, or unconnected, thus unable to represent a full isobath area at this depth. The Editor tool was used to connect vertices to close the isobath, using hillshade and other contours as guides.
(Hillshade was generated using ArcToolbox<Spatial Analyst Tools<Surface<Hillshade)
The completed polyline was converted to a polygon using Arctoolbox's Feature to Polygon Tool.
(ArcToolbox<Data Management Tools<Feature<Feature to Polygon)
Using Arctoolbox's Smooth Polygon Tool, the polygon was smoothed using a Bezier algorithm.
(ArcToolbox<Cartography Tools<Generalization<Smooth Polygon)
The smoothed polygon was reprojected to GCS WGS 84.
