As part of the Gulf of Mexico Marine Assessment Program for Protected Species (GoMMAPPS), the Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) conducted shipboard surveys of the oceanic waters (>100 m deep) of the Gulf out to the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). The survey was conducted between 11 August and 6 October 2018 onboard the NOAA Ship Pisces along prescribed tracklines in a "double saw-tooth" configuration.

* Purpose

Overall, the primary goal of this survey was to collect data on the distribution and

abundance of marine mammals in the U.S. waters of the Gulf of Mexico (GOM) using visual survey teams and passive acoustic monitoring
