66700 Data Set Published / External 6347 Cost Earnings Data - Small Boat Fishery Project In Work 2022-03-01 2022-03-15 These data represent a cost-earnings study of the Hawaii small boat fishery conducted in 2021. Data collected include fishing motivation, vessel characteristics, fixed costs, trip-level expenditures, fishing behavior, market participation, social aspects of the fishery, and demographics of small boat fishermen in 2020. The purpose of the cost-earnings study was to update our understanding of the economic and social characteristics of the Hawaii small boat fishery. Collection of these baseline data provides managers with an updated understanding of potential behavioral responses and impacts from future fishing regulations.
