<description>Stock SMART (Status, Management, Assessments &amp; Resource Trends) provides summary information on stock assessment results, as reported to the NOAA Fisheries Office of Science and Technology through the Species Information System. This information is based on the best scientific information available but does not represent all aspects of each individual stock assessment, status, or management situation. Any discrepancies in the information reported in Stock SMART should be resolved in favor of official records maintained by each region. Additional information can be found by reviewing the full stock assessment reports produced by regional scientists.
