This memo serves as official notification that the Southeast Fisheries Science Center has elected to continue the development of the SEDAR 80 stock assessments outside of the SEDAR process. Therefore, the Center recommends the SEDAR 80 assessment process be considered complete but notes that no accepted models were developed for St. Thomas/St. John and St. Croix Queen Triggerfish. If preliminary reports remain available on the SEDAR website for those stocks, they should be clearly marked “preliminary - not used for management.†In December 2022, the Caribbean Scientific and Statistical Committee concluded that the USVI stock assessments of Queen Triggerfish required significant evaluation and revision. That work continues in cooperation with the Caribbean Council and its Scientific and Statistical Committee. |
