75271 Longline TDRs Data Set Published / External 69258 PIFSC ESD Pelagic Research Program (PRP) Metadata Portfolio Project In Work 2024 These data include temperature and depth (pressure) recorded every minute while deployed on longline gear. They provide information on the depth at which both deep- and shallow-set gear are fishing, as well as ocean temperatures in the fished environment. The purpose of this dataset is to further our understanding of: - how longline fishing gear performs in the water column, - subsurface ocean temperatures, - the relationships between the physical environment and fisheries catch. These data are graciously collected for PIFSC by the Pacific Islands Region Observer Program.
