FC085AA2_CATCH - HOOKS_TOTAL field was created to hold data that were entered in HOOKS_PER_JIG. The trip data, FC085AA1_TRIP, indicates that the value was HOOKS_TOTAL and not HOOKS_PER_JIG.

Data was collected in 2001 and 2003 using the High Seas Pelagic Longline/Gillnet Log - Daily Form, and the squid jigging data were filled in whatever fields that looked remotely likely to hold the data. And the data format differs by vessel.
Data on the collection forms were entered into an Excel spreadsheet with separate worksheets for 2001 and 2003.

dataset
Data was collected in the field by High Seas permitted fishers on a federal logbook data collection form (High Seas Pelagic Longline/Gillnet Log - Daily Form), and data entry was conducted at PIFSC to create an MS-Excel spreadsheet with 2 worksheets, one for the 2001 data and another for the 2003 data.
There was no consistency in recording the squid fishing data into the High Seas form, so each vessel's data submission is slightly different.
Before migrating the spreadsheet data into Oracle, a common record format was created for the trip summary data and the catch data. The data was reformatted to the common format, so all of the trip summary data are in one Oracle table and all of the catch data are in one Oracle table.
