The U.S. Interagency Elevation Inventory (USIEI) displays high-accuracy topographic and bathymetric data for the United States and its territories. The project is a collaborative effort between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the U.S. Geological Survey, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Department of Agriculture - Natural Resources Conservation Service and U.S. Forest Service, the National Park Service, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. This resource is a comprehensive, nationwide listing of known high-accuracy topographic data, including lidar and IfSAR, and bathymetric data, including NOAA hydrographic surveys, multibeam data, and bathymetric lidar.
This zip file contains the attribute information and footprints about the data sets that are displayed in the Topographic Lidar, Topobathy Shoreline Lidar, IfSAR Data, and Bathymetric Lidar layers in the USIEI viewer. This does not include the elevation data itself. The data are provided in Esri file geodatabase format (gdb) and in the open format of OGC GeoPackage (gpkg). The data is also available via this map service: https://coast.noaa.gov/arcgis/rest/services/USInteragencyElevationInventory/USIEIv2/MapServer.
The data is updated quarterly. The information provided for each elevation data set includes many attributes such as vertical accuracy, point spacing, and date of collection. A direct link to access the data or information about the contact organization is also available through the inventory. The footprints in this data set are generalized to represent the coverage of the collection. If the exact data coverage is needed, please contact the data provider for an authoritative footprint. The fields in the gdb and gpkg are in four tables. The fields in each table are listed in the Entity Attribute Overview field.
High resolution, high accuracy datasets are often publicly available, but scattered in many places. The USIEI serves as a central index for available topographic and bathymetric data sets, provides information about the data sets, and directs you to further information.

Updates are done as a collaboration between multiple federal agencies to ensure the information is current.
Zipped Esri File Geodatabase (gdb) and Open GeoSpatial Consortium (OGC) GeoPackage (gpkg)
The fields in the gdb and gpkg are in four tables that are listed below.

Project_Name - Descriptive name of the project
Data_Type - Type of data: Lidar-Bathy, Lidar-Topo, Lidar-Topobathy, Multibeam, NOAA Hydro Surveys, Other Bathy Surveys
CollectionYear - Fiscal year of collection
ProjectStatus - The completion status of the data
Restrictions - The restrictions, if any, on the use of the data. Government Only, Other, Public, Purchase, Unknown
Horizontal_Datum - Horizontal datum of the data
Horizontal_Accuracy - Horizontal accuracy of the data
Vertical_Datum - Vertical datum of the data
Notes - Any items of interest or additional information not represented by other attributes
Products_Available - The types of data products available
Point_Spacing - The distance between data points. Also may be called Horizontal Resolution or Ground Sample Distance (GSD) or Nominal Pulse Spacing (NPS) of data. Expressed in meters.
Collection_Date - The actual dates of collection of the data
Point_Spacing_Number - The numerical value of the Point Spacing, expressed in cm RMSE.
QL - The quality level assigned to the data set. 1-5 are the quality levels. 7 is bad or unusable data. 8 is bathymetry, 9 is Unknown
InvID - US Interagency Elevation Inventory (USIEI) identification number
Global ID - The Universally Unique Identifier or GUID assigned to the data set
Owner - The agency responsible for maintaining the record
Meets3DEP - Does the data meet 3DEP requirements? Yes, No, Expected to Meet or Unknown
Reasons3DEP - Reasons wny the data does or does not meet 3DEP requirements
UUID - Universally Unique Identifier
DistributorName - USGS/National Map name and/or source agency name
CoverageArea - 2 letter state/territory abbreviation for the state(s)/territory(ies) the data set covers
LASFormat - The data file format (LAS 1.4, LAS 1.2. or others)
PointClasses - The classifications of the points in the data set
LeafOnOff - Indicates if the data was flown during Leaf Off or Leaf On conditions
InfoContact - Corporate contact about the data set, usually an email address
Contract_Specification - USGS Lidar Base Specification used in the contract to collect the data
Meets_3DEP_LPC - Does the data set meet 3DEP Lidar Point Cloud requirements? Differs from the Meets 3DEP field by looking at only the point cloud
FootprintType - The type of footprint represented. It may be the footprint used in the planning stage, the footprint given to a contractor for acquisition, the completed footprint, or a simplified footprint used for web viewing. Initially, all footprints were copied from the simplified web footprint, but will be updated over time.
DataLinks Table
InvUUID - The Universally Unique Identifier for a data set.
Link - The link to the data access, metadata, service, or additional resource
LinkLabel - The text to appear in the viewer for the associated link
LinkIDType - The number that identifies the type of link
LinkType Table
LinkTypeID - The number that identifies the type of link
LinkTypeName - The type of link and the field in the viewer to display the link
VertAccBasis Table
BasisID - The number that identifies the source of the vertical accuracy value
Description - The source of the vertical accuracy value
VertAccuracy Table
InvUUID - The Universally Unique Identifier for a data set
VertRMSEcm - The numerical value of the RMSE expressed in centimeters. A value of 9999 indicates that the vertical accuracy is unknown, not applicable, or has not yet been determined.

BasisID - The number that identifies the source of the vertical accuracy
