Kathleen Leonard

Kathleen is part of the ESA Section 7 consultation team. Before joining NOAA Fisheries, she worked as a consultant based in Anchorage where she focused on marine mammal monitoring and mitigation projects, aerial infrared surveys of polar bear denning habitat, and aerial marine mammal surveys using digital imaging. She has been the project manager and data manager on multifaceted large-scale programs to evaluate and reduce potential impacts from anthropogenic activities. Kathleen grew up on Long Island, NY and travelled the world as a field biologist before planting roots in Alaska.
