Cheryl Kitts

Cheryl is a part-time Communications Specialist for the Fishery Monitoring and Research Division (FMRD). She joined the team in November 2014 to provide advice on the development of an effective at-sea emergency action plan and emergency contact protocols for the observer program. She writes communications and outreach materials to increase awareness of FMRD. When not working at FMRD, Cheryl is a Public Affairs Specialist for the Small Business Administration’s Disaster Team. She has worked in disaster response since 2002, first with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and then with Bank of America. She graduated from Temple University with a degree in Economics.
