Fishing Footprints in the Northeast

These interactive maps were developed by the Northeast's Social Sciences Branch. For more information on the method by which we interpreted Vessel Trip Report data to create this database of fishing activity maps, please see Statistically assessing the precision of self-reported VTR fishing locations and Visualizing fishing data as rasters. Commercial fishing activity is categorized using Jenks' Natural Breaks into 5 classes. All maps are plotted in North American Datum 1983 (NAD83). Revenue figures are real (2014) US dollars.
