Biological Opinion: Taiya Inlet Railroad Dock Dolphin Project, Skagway, Alaska

Endangered Species Act Section 7(a)(2) Biological Opinion on the construction of two railroad dock dolphins within Taiya Inlet in Skagway, Alaska. NMFS Consultation Number: AKR-2018-9831.

For the actions described in this document, the action agencies are the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which proposes to permit the construction of two railroad dock dolphins within Taiya Inlet in Skagway, Alaska; and NMFS’s Office of Protected Resources, Permits and Conservation Division (PR1), which proposes to issue an incidental harassment authorization (IHA) pursuant to section 101(a)(5)(D) of the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972, as amended (16 U.S.C. § 1361 et seq.), to the White Pass and Yukon Route for harassment of marine mammals incidental to construction operations (83 FR 64541). The consulting agency is NOAA Fisheries’ Alaska Regional Office.
