The Environmental Analysis documents the analysis of the target species stock status, higher and lower trophic level species, and the physical and socioeconomic environment evaluated during the process of recommending the 1997 total allowable catch specifications for the Bering Sea and Aleutian management area and Gulf of Alaska federally regulated groundfish fisheries. The specified total allowable catch will become the upper limit of groundfish harvested in the fisheries during calendar year 1997.
