This HCP is still in process and only in draft form.

This HCP is still in process and only in draft form. The Mendocino Company HCP will cover forest land management on approximately 200,000 acres of forestlands in Mendocino and Humboldt Counties in California for an 80 year term. This HCP would be a multi-species agreement covering four ESA-listed salmonids.

The draft HCP and associated National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) documents were made available for public comment in late 2012. Over 500 separate comments were received from 36 different individuals and organizations. The public comment period for this HCP is closed at this time. NOAA Fisheries, U.S. Fish and Wildlife, Cal-Fire, and the California Department of Fish & Wildlife are working together to respond to public comments.
