If you find a whale, seal, sea lion, dolphin, porpoise, or sea turtle that is dead, injured, entangled, or in distress, please use the map below to contact the authorized rescue network.
How to Use This Map
- Find the Location: Zoom in to where the animal is located.
- Tap the Shoreline: Click the area near the animal to see a pop-up with the specific organization's name and direct phone number.
- Call the Hotline: If you cannot find a local group, call the West Coast Marine Mammal Stranding Hotline: 1-866-767-6114.
What Information to Report
When you call, please be ready to provide:
- Location: Specific beach, GPS coordinates, or nearby landmarks.
- Condition: Is the animal alive, dead, injured, or entangled?
- Photos: Take photos from a safe distance to help experts identify the species and health status.
- Details: Date, time, and estimated size of the animal.
