Cultimar Exempted Fishing Permit - Red Snapper Collection for Aquaculture Research
The National Marine Fisheries Service received an application for an EFP to collect red snapper off Florida
Cultimar Technologies, Inc. (Cultimar) has submitted an application to the National Marine Fisheries Service for an exempted fishing permit (EFP) to collect 200 sexually mature American red snapper from federal waters off the coast of Florida. The collected fish would be transported via the research vessel R/V Bluemanta to Cultimar’s hatchery and research facility in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. The primary objective of this project is to establish a genetically diverse and robust red snapper broodstock population and to enable research into the biology, physiology, and aquaculture potential of the species.
