Mariculture Transport Permit

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) monitors and manages shellfish resources to provide sustained ecological, commercial, social, and recreational benefits for Oregonians. In support of this mission, ODFW requires a mariculture transport permit for inter- and intrastate transport of shellfish that are to be placed in state waters.

If you plan to transport shellfish from another state into Oregon, you will also need a Health Certification from your supplier prior to applying for the permit. To apply for a Mariculture Transport Permit, contact Matt Hunter, ODFW Shellfish Project Leader at matthew.v.hunter@odfw.oregon.gov or (971) 606-0428.

Shellfish seed and larvae providers listed on the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife website are approved for use in Oregon.
