Notice of Availability of the Marianas Trench Marine National Monument Draft Management Plan and Environmental Assessment
Summary
NOAA Fisheries and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, in cooperation with the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Government, have prepared a draft management plan and environmental assessment for the proper care and management of the Marianas Trench Marine National Monument, as directed by Presidential Proclamation 8335 (January 6, 2009). The plan defines agency management roles and responsibilities and lays out the goals, objectives, and proposed management activities for the next 15 years. The plan includes an environmental assessment to evaluate the potential impacts of implementing the proposed management actions.
We are accepting public comments for the draft management plan and environmental assessment for the Marianas Trench Marine National Monument through May 25, 2021.
