InPort uses a Shared Component model to document and leverage a number of metadata types and utilities, which are commonly reused across Catalog Items and organizations.

Since Components are shared by the entire InPort user community, they can only be created or modified by InPort users with a Librarian role. A few Components like Observing Systems and XSLT Transforms are only editable by Sys Admin users.

If you would like to use a Shared Component that is not currently in InPort, or if you need to report an error or request an update to an existing Component, please contact your organization Librarian or InPort Support to address the issue.
