Description:

An epibenthic tow sled is an instrument that is designed to collect organisms that live on bottom sediments (Figure A-7). It consists of a fine mesh net attached to a rigid frame with runners to help it move along the substrate. The sled is towed along the bottom at the sediment-water interface, scooping up benthic organisms as it goes.
