Description:

SeaMarc II is an interferometric, shallow-tow, long-range side-scan sonar system that is capable of producing bathymetry as well as side-scan images of the bottom in real time. The SeaMarc II and SeaMarc CL were first of their kind, with the SeaMarc II operating at 11 - 12 kHz range. The systems were co-created by the University of Hawaii and the Raytheon Company. The SeaMarc II was developed in the mid-1980's and completed 28 expeditions between 1986 and 1991.
