Instrument Type: sounder, Operational Mode: , Collection Type: spin-scan and step action, Other Information: VAS is capable of operating in three different collection modes: the operational VISSR mode, the Multi-Spectral Imaging (MSI) mode, and the Dwell Sounding (DS) mode. The temporal resolution of VAS data varies with the operating mode. More frequent images at shorter intervals were made for special weather events. There was nor regular VAS coverage.
