Description:

The Fugro Laser Airborne Depth Sounder (LADS) MkII lidar system is a cost-effective tool for accurate bathymetric survey in shallow coastal waters. LADS MkII System combines an integrated bathymetric and topographic capability in a single sensor, allowing highly efficient, complete coverage over drying features, small islands and beaches. LADS MkII's unique programmable scan capability provides several coverage options and a high level of efficiency for sounding collection. LADS MkII System uses a sounding rate of 990 pulses per second to achieve effective measurements in depths up to 75 meters, dependent on water clarity. LADS MkII has a rectilinear scan and produces a grid pattern with the sounding density ranging from 2 meters squared to 6 meters squared. The system can acquire a swath width up to 240 meters and meet International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) Order 1 standards based on user settings. The LADS MkII has been superseded by the LADS Mk 3.
