Developed jointly by Saab Aerospace and the UK Hydrographic Office, the HawkEye II bathymetric LiDAR system was designed specifically for seabed mapping near the land-water interface. HawkEye II is a twin laser system that combines bathymetric and topographic laser systems. HawkEye II simultaneously collects 4000 bathymetric measements (full waveform) and 64000 topographic measurements (up to four returns per shot). The system delivers data with a sounding density ranging from 1.7 x 1.7 meters to 3.5 x 3.5 meters and provides measurements up to depths of 50 meters in clear water. The most recent model is the HawkEye III. |
