Item Identification

Title: Mukilteo water sensor time series - Field work coupling measurements of carbon chemistry and distribution of free-living organisms
Short Name: Mukilteo water sensor time series (Field work coupling measurements of carbon chemistry and distribution of free-living organisms)
Status: Completed
Creation Date: 2013-01-03
Publication Date: 2019-05-31
Abstract:

To estimate the carbon chemistry conditions experienced by free-living organisms, we will conduct coupled biological/carbon chemistry sampling for key zooplankton species and settlement plate experiments. As funding allows, we will also increase the capability of the NWFSC to conduct these types of studies in the future.

Time series of water sensor measurements collected from the NWFSC Mukilteo pier and facility intake. Measurements include pCO2, pH, temp, salinity, DO. Set to start online winter 2012-13.

Distributor: Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) (2015-10-01 - Present)
File Name: Mukilteo Station Intake pH (RESTful)
Description:

Daily measures of pH, temperature and salinity of the seawater intake at the NOAA NWFSC Mukilteo Field Station (802 Front Street, Mukilteo, WA 98275). Seawater is pumped from ~50m off shore at a depth of ~10m. Measurements are taken in 4’ diameter flow through animal rearing tank in the “salmon shed” research lab after the water has been sand filtered. The measurement tank contains less than 100g added biomass.

Do these Data Comply with the Data Access Directive?: No
Is Access to the Data Limited Based on an Approved Waiver?: No
If Distributor (Data Hosting Service) is Needed, Please Indicate: No
Approximate Delay Between Data Collection and Dissemination: 0 days
If Delay is Longer than Latency of Automated Processing, Indicate Under What Authority Data Access is Delayed:

Actual or Planned Long-Term Data Archive Location: NCEI-MD
Approximate Delay Between Data Collection and Archiving: 365
How Will the Data Be Protected from Accidental or Malicious Modification or Deletion Prior to Receipt by the Archive?:

The Northwest Fisheries Science Center facilitates backup and recovery of all data and IT components which are managed by IT Operations through the capture of static (point-in-time) backup data to physical media. Once data is captured to physical media (every 1-3 days), a duplicate is made and routinely (weekly) transported to an offsite archive facility where it is maintained throughout the data's applicable life-cycle.

Lineage

Lineage Statement:

Sensors throughout the facility are processed through the Avtech monitoring system.
