This data entity contains the catch, effort, and bycatch information recorded in the vessel logbook. |
| Purpose: |
Logbook data submission is mandatory for all large purse-seine vessels under IATTC regulations and since the 2005 implementation of the HMS fisheries management plan, for small coastal purse-seine vessels targeting HMS. The data are used to monitor the fishery and contribute to stock assessments. |
| Notes: |
Logbooks are collected by the IATTC, SWFSC, WCRO or PIRO and are managed by IATTC staff. |
