Abstract: |
To provide educational information to children (ages 2 to 18) through clinics (learning stations) to raise community awareness and promote appropriate public behavior around sea turtles in Hawaii consistent with NOAA?s viewing guidelines. |
Purpose: |
Conduct at least 12 free ocean clinics on the island of Oahu (one each month) incorporating green and hawksbill turtle educational information (on biology, ecology, and conservation) as part of a sea turtle stewardship learning station. This will be achieved through age appropriate informational pamphlets, banners, and verbal communication. Other learning stations include standup paddling, canoe paddling, and surfing. |
