Abstract: |
This dataset is from a study that analyzed the late summer distribution of juvenile Pacific cod in the eastern Bering Sea for 6 cohorts (2004-2009), based on catches in the Bering-Aleutian Salmon International Survey (BASIS). |
Purpose: |
The purpose of this study was to examine distributional patterns of juvenile Pacific cod during a period of sginificant variation in cohort strength and thermal regime in the Bering Sea, which allowed the consideration of potential density-dependent effects and climate-induced changes in distribution at the northern limit of the species' range, and evaluation of local scale habitat selection in relation to fish density and water temperature. |
