AFSC/RACE/MACE: Pollock Acoustic/Trawl Survey Biennial Gulf of Alaska

Biennial acoustic ­trawl stock assessment survey of the western Gulf of Alaska to estimate the summer distribution and abundance of walleye pollock (Gadus chalcogrammus) and other midwater species. The survey covers the continental shelf and associated bays and troughs from the Islands of Four Mountains in the west to Yakutat Trough in the east over bottom depths of approximately 50 m to 1,000 m.

Acoustic data collection with associated midwater and bottom trawls for stock assessment and abundance estimates of midwater species, primarily including walleye pollock, Pacific ocean perch, capelin, and euphausiid species.
