Abstract: |
This dataset is from a laboratory study that examined the growth responses of northern rock sole eggs and larvae across a range of CO2 levels to evaluate the potential sensitivity to ocean acidification. |
Purpose: |
The goal of the study that produced this dataset was to examine how hatch size and larval growth of northern rock sole are affected by ocean acidification. |

Lineage
Lineage Statement: |
Eggs for the experiments were produced by a captive broodstock of northern rock sole at the Alaska Fisheries Science Center laboratory in Newport, Oregon. Eggs and larvae were incubated in a flow-through rearing system under controlled temperature and pH conditions, and growth responses were examined across a range of CO2 levels. CO2 levels were maintained via computer-controlled injection of CO2 into a seawater conditioning tank. |
