Abstract

Scientific Data Management (SDM) Program shares and manages scientific and scientific program information systems in ways that support the mission and business of the NWFSC. We strive to bring quality information, in the right form, to the right people at the right time to support necessary decisions and generate ideas.

Multi-FMC annual project planning (for budget, people, and operational costs) and data set tracking (for data entry to feed InPort/NCEI/Data.gov) TEST CASE TWO.

Distribution Information

  • Multi-FMC annual project planning (for budget, people, and operational costs) and data set tracking (for data entry to feed InPort/NCEI/Data.gov) TEST CASE TWO

Access Constraints:

The application requires users to sign in with authorized credentials. Custom authentication can verify user/password using NOAA LDAP or our own user tables for non-NOAA users. Roles for authenticated users are managed within the application (for row levelaccess).

Data is stored in the Northwest Fisheries Science Center enterprise Oracle database, with all security and backups managed by IT staff.

Data Quality

Quality Control Procedures Employed:

These data were collected and processed in accordance with established protocols and best practices under the direction of the projects Principal Investigator. Contact the dataset Data Manager in section 3 for full QA/QC methodology.

Data Management

Have Resources for Management of these Data Been Identified?: Yes
Approximate Percentage of Budget for these Data Devoted to Data Management: 92
Do these Data Comply with the Data Access Directive?: Yes
Is Access to the Data Limited Based on an Approved Waiver?: No
If Distributor (Data Hosting Service) is Needed, Please Indicate: No
Approximate Delay Between Data Collection and Dissemination: 0 days
If Delay is Longer than Latency of Automated Processing, Indicate Under What Authority Data Access is Delayed:

No Delay

Actual or Planned Long-Term Data Archive Location: NCEI-CO
Approximate Delay Between Data Collection and Archiving: 365
How Will the Data Be Protected from Accidental or Malicious Modification or Deletion Prior to Receipt by the Archive?:

The Northwest Fisheries Science Center facilitates backup and recovery of all data and IT components which are managed by IT Operations through the capture of static (point-in-time) backup data to physical media. Once data is captured to physical media (every 1-3 days), a duplicate is made and routinely (weekly) transported to an offsite archive facility where it is maintained throughout the data's applicable life-cycle.

Lineage

Lineage Statement:

We work with Northwest Fisheries Science Center leadership and staff to schedule the capture of the annual project planning data for meeting multiple purposes.
