A 3-dimensional identifier for the fixed location (LATITUDE and LONGITUDE) and depth where the subsurface temperature logger (STR) was deployed at the island or atoll (LOCATION). Includes "OCC" prefix, a 3-letter location code (derived from LOCATION), and a 3-digit site number. A newly deployed instrument is assigned to a pre-existing OCC_SITEID if its coordinates are within a 100-m diameter and its depth is within a 3-m depth cylinder of a pre-existing OCC_SITEID, otherwise, the instrument is assigned a new OCC_SITEID.
