Summary

Abstract

This dataset layer displays the location of grab samples collected at each station of the 2015 Thomas Jefferson cruise. For each grab, information was collected on associated habitat characteristics (mean phi, fraction gravel, sand, mud). This dataset will be used to ground truth backscatter, bathymetry and sidescan sonar data.The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration assumes no responsibility for the use of these data. This dataset was collected between 6/22/2015 - 7/03/2015. This dataset is being used to derive habitat metrics for NOAA/NMFS/NEFSC Benthic Assessment Report to BOEM, for the offshore Wind Energy Areas (WEAs). This dataset was created by NOAA/NMFS/NEFSC/Sandy Hook Laboratory/Coastal Ecology Branch, 2015-2017.
