Sample Latitude in decimal degrees, or start Latitude for samples collected by trawl, transect or in a line.

Sample Longitude in decimal degrees, or start longitude for samples collected by trawl, transect or in a line.

Description of station, or grouping (by reach, by section of river, by embayment)

Station or site identifier. This is often defined by the workplan and/or recorded by the field team, but may be standardized to database requirements.

The name of the study under which the field data were collected.

Method used to complete measurement. Preferred is a reference to a standard method or citation or specific instrument (e.g. EPA 8270C, YSI 600QS).

General category of data.

Number of replicate of sample. 1 means the original sample.

Type of material on which analysis/measurement is conducted, if not measurement representative of entire Station+Identifier. E.g., whole fish, water, air, roots, leaves.

Can use | (piping) to delineate multiple notes. Station or Identifier level notes should be entered for each related result.

Code for Result Type, to distinguish raw versus interpreted results. Full list found in ValidValues tab.

Determined by Study provider or Laboratory. This is unlikely to be used for field measurements, but can specify type of review or validation done on data (e.g., Double-entry transcription; 10% review; voucher collection). This information can also be included in Study notes.
