This dataset displays the rough boundaries of habitat types which are based off of a Habitat Equivalency Analysis (HEA) conducted by NOAA and the Portland Harbor Natural Resource Trustee Council as part of a Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA). The boundaries created in these layers are estimates and the polygons vary off of the NAD 1983 projection surface on which they were drawn. The habitat designs for construction were created by Portland General Electric in 2021 with oversight from the Portland Harbor Natural Resource Council.

Abstract: |
This dataset displays the rough boundaries of habitat types which are based off of a Habitat Equivalency Analysis (HEA) conducted by NOAA and the Portland Harbor Natural Resource Trustee Council as part of a Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA). The boundaries created in these layers are estimates and the polygons vary off of the NAD 1983 projection surface on which they were drawn. The habitat designs for construction were created by Portland General Electric in 2021 with oversight from the Portland Harbor Natural Resource Council. |
Purpose: |
This dataset references rough habitat boundaries at Harborton restoration site. This dataset was developed to accompany and support a Storymap product describing the ecological restoration in Portland Harbor. |
Supplemental Information: |
Source Data: Final habitat designs from which these proposed habitat boundaries were based can be found at https://pub-data.diver.orr.noaa.gov/portland-harbor/20210501_PGE_FinalCompiledHDP_5049.pdf. Habitat types were reclassified for ease of public understanding in this feature layer. |
