Abstract

This dataset displays the rough boundaries of habitat types which are based off of a Habitat Equivalency Analysis (HEA) conducted by NOAA and the Portland Harbor Natural Resource Trustee Council as part of a Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA). The boundaries created in these layers are estimates and the polygons vary off of the NAD 1983 projection surface on which they were drawn. The habitat designs for construction were created by Falling Springs in 2014 with oversight from the Portland Harbor Natural Resource Council.

NOAA is providing these data "as is," and NOAA disclaims any and all warranties, whether express or implied, including (without limitation) any implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. No warranty expressed or implied is made regarding the accuracy or utility of the data on any other system or for general or scientific purposes, nor shall the act of distribution constitute any such warranty. It is strongly recommended that careful attention be paid to the contents of the metadata file associated with these data to evaluate dataset limitations, restrictions or intended use. In no event will NOAA be liable to you or to any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special or exemplary damages or lost profit resulting from any use or misuse of this data. These layers are a rough visual of the habitat boundaries built by private developers and Portland Harbor Natural Resource Trustee Council to offset injuries to natural resources due to contamination. They are published in a public facing storymap and are an administrative record of the NOAA restoration center. These should not be used for determination of specific or exclusive boundary locations. There are no access constraints. NOAA cannot assume liability for any damages, or misrepresentations, caused by any inaccuracies in the data, or as a result of the data to be used on a particular system. NOAA makes no warranty, expressed or implied, nor does the fact of distribution constitute such a warranty.Technical Use Limitations:These polygons were developed for the purpose of visually estimating the boundaries of the constructed habitat types in the Rinearson Natural Area restoration project. These boundaries are rough designs, are not spatially accurate or distinct between adjacent polygons, accuray cannot be guaranteed, and should be used only for visual representation.

Abstract:

This dataset displays the rough boundaries of habitat types which are based off of a Habitat Equivalency Analysis (HEA) conducted by NOAA and the Portland Harbor Natural Resource Trustee Council as part of a Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA). The boundaries created in these layers are estimates and the polygons vary off of the NAD 1983 projection surface on which they were drawn. The habitat designs for construction were created by Falling Springs in 2014 with oversight from the Portland Harbor Natural Resource Council.

Purpose:

This dataset references rough habitat boundaries at Rinearson Natural Area restoration site. This dataset was developed to accompany and support a Storymap product describing the ecological restoration in Portland Harbor.

Supplemental Information:

Source Data:

Final habitat designs from which these proposed habitat boundaries were based can be found at https://pub-data.diver.orr.noaa.gov/portland-harbor/20190412_Rinearson_FinalRNAHbtDevPln_4445.pdf.

Habitat types were reclassified for ease of public understanding in this feature layer.
