TEXT 		The benthos was characterized in four main groups: (i) coral (strictly hard scleractinian live corals), (ii) algae (excluding turf), (iii) turf algae, (iv) crustose coralline algae (CCA), (v) calcified (i.e., corals, CCA, and other calcifiers such as Halimeda algae) and (vi) non-calcified (non-calcifying algae, sponges, and other non-calcified living).
