The Cowcod Conservation Areas (CCAs) are two areas off the southern California coast intended to protect cowcod. The Western Cowcod Conservation Area (CCA) Transit Corridor spatial dataset was produced using Geographic Information System (GIS) software by clipping the Western CCA polygon (50 CFR § 660.70(s)(1)) between northern and southern latitude boundary lines published in the Code of Federal Regulations (50 CFR § 660.70(s)(2)). The corridor geometry was constructed by bounding the area on the north by the line of latitude at 33°00.50′ N and on the south by the line of latitude at 32°59.50′ N.
