| Description: |
The New Bedford-type dredge is primarily used to harvest sea scallops. The forward edge of the New Bedford-type dredge uses a cutting bar to create turbulence that drives scallops from the sediment into the bag of the dredge. The bag is made of metal rings and drags on the seafloor. |
