What is the difference between fisheries independent data and fisheies dependent data

Answer:

Fishery dependent data are collected directly from the commercial and recreational harvester. When fisheries scientists collect fisheries information independent of commercial or recreational fishing operations, this information is considered fisheries-independent data.

What is the difference between catch and landings

Answer:

Landings include only harvested fish. Catch includes released/discarded fish and landings.
