Description

Biopsy samples have been collected since 2010 from cetaceans within the Marianas including Guam and the southern islands of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan, Tinian, Aguijan, and Rota). Biopsy samples were also collected during a shipboard survey of the waters surrounding the Mariana Archipelago (Guam to Uracas) out to 50 nmi.

Abstract:	Biopsy samples have been collected since 2010 from cetaceans within the Marianas including Guam and the southern islands of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan, Tinian, Aguijan, and Rota). Biopsy samples were also collected during a shipboard survey of the waters surrounding the Mariana Archipelago (Guam to Uracas) out to 50 nmi.
Purpose:	Biological sample collection is an essential tool for determining populations structure and ecology. Skin samples are used to elucidate genetic stock structure.
