Abstract

This report includes an identification confidence matrix for all fishes and

invertebrates identified from the GOA and AI surveys from 1980 through 2011. The matrix lists a confidence level for each taxon by survey year along with its frequency of occurrence on that survey and the number of corroborating voucher collections.

Distribution Information

  • CSV - Comma Separated Values (Text)

Identification confidence index, followed in parentheses by frequency of occurrence and numbers of vouchered lots collected, for all taxa of fishes and invertebrates recorded during Aleutian Islands surveys conducted from 1980 to 2010. Taxa are sorted by RACE species codes.

Note: Dataset migrated by Dan Woodrich (AFSC data management coordinator) on 12/15/2021. Contact: Daniel.woodrich@noaa.gov

  • CSV - Comma Separated Values (Text)

Identification confidence index, followed in parentheses by frequency of occurrence and numbers of vouchered lots collected, for all taxa of fishes and invertebrates recorded during Gulf of Alaska surveys conducted from 1984 to 2011. Taxa are sorted by RACE species codes.

Abstract:

This report includes an identification confidence matrix for all fishes and

invertebrates identified from the GOA and AI surveys from 1980 through 2011. The matrix lists a confidence level for each taxon by survey year along with its frequency of occurrence on that survey and the number of corroborating voucher collections.

Purpose:

The matrix is intended to serve as a general guideline for data users interested in assessing the reliability of historical species identifications on these surveys.
