VARCHAR2 		For fish purchased by GVI. GVI is a wholesale buyer that purchases fish from the UFA fish auction for the LHP. A tag containing the weight, species, date, and vessel that caught the fish is attached to each auction fish. The name of the fishing vessel is obtained from this tag.
Area of Island Caught
VARCHAR2 		The area of the island the fish was caught. Sometimes, fishermen share more specific location information with the LHP but, exact locations (lat & long) are rarely available. For fish purchased by GVI, it is difficult to determine which island or island area the fish was caught.

VARCHAR2 		Island the fish was caught; all are from the Main Hawaiian Islands.
Fork Length (cm)
NUMBER 		The fork length of the fish in centimeters. For GVI purchased fish, the fork length is obtained by GVI staff; all other fish are measured by LHP staff.
Body Weight (kg)
NUMBER 		The body weight of the fish in kilograms. This is a calculated value for GVI-purchased fish, fish weight is given in pounds by GVI.
Macro Sex
VARCHAR2 		The sex of the fish determined macroscopically.
Gonad Weight (g)
NUMBER 		The gonad weight of the fish in grams.
Otoliths Extracted
NUMBER 		The number of sagittal otoliths extracted from the fish.
Gonads Extracted
VARCHAR2 		A yes (Y) or no (N) value of whether or not gonads were extracted and saved.
Gonads Fixed
VARCHAR 		What chemical the gonads were fixed and preserved in; either Glyo-Fixx or Formalin.
Other Tissues Hardparts Extracted
CHAR 		A yes (Y) or no (N) value on whether or not any additional specimens were saved from the fish.
